Auto Hide Taskbar Not Working

Rebooting to 'unstick' the Start Menu, as someone suggested, is a bit harsh. seems like Microsoft figures (corectly) that they have a monopoly and do not ned to be responsive to thier customers or put out a quality product.  I have had more problems Skype was alerting me and when I quit it, it let go of my task bar which now auto-hides beautifully.

In Windows 10 If you are in Windows 10 you'll need to go to System -> Notifications and Actions instead and click on "Select which icons appear on the taskbar".  Once it could not be any worse than what i have now. Wow I didn't know that! I will, from now on, keep my stuff up to date.
